Common Question

Is America Racist? Is DEI Bad? What PragerU Gets Right — and Wrong

Whether racial disparities and DEI policy are net positive or negative is a contested political question. This page covers where PragerU's specific videos on the subject have been independently tested against the evidence.

The honest version of the question

Whether racial disparities in outcomes reflect ongoing structural causes, historical causes with present-day effects, individual choices, or some mix of all three is a genuine, actively debated question among historians, economists, and sociologists. PragerU is not wrong that the question is real. The issue this site documents is narrower and more specific: what happens to the evidence once PragerU has picked its answer.

Where PragerU's answer breaks from evidence

Two of PragerU's videos that speak directly to this question — "How to End Systemic Racism" and "What Is Critical Race Theory?" — have been run through this site's independent epistemological analysis. Both were found to use the same three-step manipulation structure documented across the rest of PragerU's content, and both scored low on alignment with the recorded words of Jesus specifically — a relevant standard given PragerU's own Judeo-Christian branding. Case File 08 has the full analysis, including the selectively-quoted Martin Luther King Jr. line in the CRT video.

What about "The DEI Disaster" and "Is America Racist?" specifically?

In the interest of not claiming more than has actually been shown: PragerU's videos titled "The DEI Disaster" and "Is America Racist?" have not yet been run through this site's Snare Check analysis. This page will be updated if and when they are. The pattern found across the nine videos that have been analyzed — spanning race, history, education, religion, and foreign policy — is documented in full on Case File 08.
